Rabbi Dr. Gil Elmaleh – Coordinator of Summer Programs
Rabbi Dr. Gil Elmaleh is the Dean of Students at Yeshivat Torat Shraga and has worked in summer camps for more than 25 years. He was Head Counselor at Camp Simcha, Educational Director at Camp Lavi/Camp Mesorah and Camp Rabbi at The Koby Mandell Foundation’s Camp Koby V’Yosef. Rabbi Elmaleh served as Director of Therapeutic Services at the Sinai Special Needs Institute and currently maintains a clinical practice in Israel. He is the Founder and Director of Yair Leolam, a non-profit organization that aims to teach Jewish youth about the importance of doing chessed and becoming leaders in their communities.
Roy Angstreich – Executive Director – The Koby Mandell Foundation
Roy has served as Executive Director of The Koby Mandell Foundation, as well as Director of Camp Koby V’Yosef since its founding in the summer of 2002.
He has an M.A. in Social Work from Yeshiva University. Prior to coming on Aliyah, Roy served as Director of Youth Services at Yeshiva University and as Director of Student Activities at The Ramaz Upper School in Manhattan. He also served in various senior administrative positions in Camp Hillel, Camp Morasha and Camp Lavi.
After coming on Aliyah in 1991, Roy served as Director of Beit Midrash L’Torah (BMT), as Director of Camp Simcha for children with cancer and as owner/Director of an American style sleep away camp – Camp Ariel.
Roy, along with Rabbi Seth Mandell, the President of the Foundation began the “Camp Koby Experience” in the summer of 2004.
Rabbi Seth Mandell is the founder and President of The Koby Mandell Foundation. In 2001 after their 13 year old son Koby was murdered by terrorists in Israel, Seth and his wife Sherri created The Koby Mandell Foundation to provide emotional support for families in Israel whose loved ones were murdered by terrorists.
Rabbi Mandell has been involved in Jewish education programs since 1982. He was the Hillel Director at Penn State University and later at University of Maryland,College Park
He has lectured in Mexico, England, throughout the United States, in Canada and in Israel.
